Just as the Wallace Govs are becoming synonymous with winning conference championships, they are also becoming synonymous with sending players to four-year schools to continue their baseball careers. So far this year the Govs have six players from the 2025 roster who have either signed or committed to four-year schools. Two others already have offers and are waiting to make their final decision.
This follows last year's successful class when the Govs had a larger sophomore class, and 10 players signed with four-year schools.
Here is a list of the player who have signed / committed this year and the school they are headed to:

• Jake Middleton – South Alabama
• Braden Rapp – West Florida
• Walker Altman – West Georgia
• Clint Lafferty – Mississippi Valley State
• John Locurto – Georgia Southwestern
• JT Thigpen – Mississippi College

Five of the six players are pitchers. Only Thigpen is an outfielder. The two uncommitted players are also pitchers. They will not be publicly named until their commitment is official.
Wallace baseball coach Ryan Ihle said the placement of his student-athletes with four-year schools doesn't happen by accident.
"Each year, we proudly send a number of our athletes on to four-year programs, which is a testament to the strong developmental foundation we provide," Ihle said. "This consistent progression reflects our deep commitment to the individual growth of every player who comes through our program."
"Of course, wins and losses matter. But the reality is, our success on the field is a direct result of how well we develop our players," he continued. "When we focus on building strong, prepared, and confident individuals, the wins follow. That's the heart of our philosophy: the more we invest in our players, the more we succeed, both as a team and as a program."
