DOTHAN, Ala. — The Wallace Community College-Dothan men's golf team opens its 2026 fall season tomorrow at the Wallace State Community College-Hanceville Tournament in Cullman, AL, entering the season as the reigning Alabama Community College Conference (ACCC) Division II champions.

The Governors are coming off a historic first season back on the course after more than two decades away from competition. Under head coach Scott Stephens, Wallace captured its first ACCC men's golf championship since 1991, finished second at the NJCAA South District Championship and advanced to the NJCAA Division II National Championship, where the Governors finished 17th. Wallace also recorded six top-three finishes during the season.

Wallace returns four sophomores from last season's championship squad.  They include Sam Broadaway, Fisher Prichard, Ian Senn and Cooper Weeks. The experienced group will provide leadership as the Governors look to build on last season's success and defend their conference championship.

"Last year was a special year for this program, but we understand that success is something you have to continue to earn," said Wallace head coach Scott Stephens. "Our goal this season is to build on what we accomplished last year, continue to get better every time we step on the course and compete for championships. We have a great group of returning sophomores who understand what it takes, and we're excited to see what this team can accomplish."

Weeks returns as an All-Conference selection after finishing 10th at the ACCC Championship and tying for seventh at the South District Championship. Senn also finished among the conference championship's top 16, while Broadaway and Prichard return with valuable tournament experience.

The four sophomores will be joined by seven freshmen as Wallace begins its second season back in competition. The Governors will look to establish themselves early and begin another championship pursuit when they tee off tomorrow in Cullman.
