Governors Men's Golf releases 2026 Spring Schedule

DOTHAN, Ala. – Wallace Community College–Dothan is gearing up for a competitive 2026 golf season, highlighted by a travel-heavy slate that sends the Governors across Alabama and into Florida for some of the region's premier college tournaments. The schedule features six multi-day events from late January through March, giving the squad a steady rhythm of high-level competition as they build toward postseason play.

A Strong Start in Florida
The Govs open at the Titan Winter Invitational hosted by Eastern Florida State College in Melbourne, Florida, a challenging early-season test known for deep fields and fast greens. Suntree Country Club's layout rewards precision—an ideal benchmark for the Govs.
"We get started playing a tournament with several four-year schools and top-notch junior college competition," said head coach Scott Stephens. "This will be a good early challenge and test to see how good we really are at this point."

Heavy Presence on the Robert Trent Jones Trail
Three events take place on the RTJ Golf Trail, one of Alabama's most competitive and scenic golf networks. These tournaments often attract top NJCAA programs, giving Wallace valuable exposure and high-level competition.
Although Stephens' squad is not hosting a tournament in the spring, the Govs' home practice course is the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail at Highland Oaks in Dothan.

Balanced Mix of Familiar and Fresh Challenges and Faces
From the tight fairways of Juniper Creek to the rolling terrain at Cambrian Ridge, the Govs will face a variety of course styles—an important factor in preparing for postseason play.
Four golfers, sophomores Grayson Lozano and Alex Broadaway along with freshmen Cooper Weeks and Fisher Prichard, will look to build on a successful fall season. Trenton Ables, a sophomore who didn't compete in the fall because he had already used two fall seasons of eligibility, will add experience to the lineup. Ian Senn will also join the squad in the spring after being a member of the Troy University football team. Nolan Williams hopes to participate later this season although his freshman season has been hampered by injury.

Postseason
The 2026 slate positions Wallace–Dothan for a season of growth, challenge, and opportunity. With a schedule built around strong regional tournaments and diverse course setups, the Governors have every chance to make noise in the ACCC and beyond.
The Govs will compete in the ACCC Conference Championship in early April then will compete for a bid to the NJCAA Championship when they travel to the District Championship two weeks later.
The NJCAA Division II Championship will begin on May 19 in Plymouth, Indiana.

"We always want to win each tournament, but our spring goal is nothing less than playing for a National Championship," Stephens responded when asked what the team hopes to accomplish this season.
"This group has the talent. Now we just have to show it in tournament settings."
