MELBOURNE, Fla. - Wallace Community College opened its spring golf season with a strong showing at the Titan Winter Invitational, placing 8th overall in a competitive 13-team field at Suntree Country Club. The two-day, 54-hole event was hosted by Eastern Florida State College and featured several nationally ranked NJCAA and NAIA programs.
The Governors posted rounds of +18, +26, and +21 for a tournament total of +65, finishing ahead of Southeastern (FL), St. Thomas (FL), Southern Union, Calhoun, and Wallace State–Hanceville.

Weeks Leads Wallace CC
Freshman
Cooper Weeks paced Wallace CC with a T26 finish at +16, recording rounds of +4, +4, and +8. His consistency over the first two rounds kept the Governors positioned firmly in the middle of the leaderboard.

Prichard delivered one of the team's highlights with a +3 final round, marking one of the largest single-day improvements in the field.

A Strong Foundation for the Spring
"This tournament always brings a championship-level field, and our guys responded well," head coach
Scott Stephens said. "We saw growth each round, and this gives us momentum heading into the heart of our spring schedule."
The Govs finished second among the five ACCC schools that competed in the tournament. Central Alabama CC won the event at 37 over.
Wallace CC will return to action at the Southern Union Men's Invitational on February 9-11, continuing its preparation for conference and NJCAA postseason play.
