DOTHAN, Ala. – The Wallace Govs baseball team (5-6) will meet the Enterprise State Boll Weevils (2-4) on Wednesday night to open the 14^th annual Hits for Heroes.
Wallace and ESCC will play a 7-inning game starting at 6 PM to open this year's event at Northcutt Field in Westgate Park. Area high school teams will square off Thursday through Saturday as part of this year's event.
Over the 13 year history of the event, more than half a million dollars has been raised for local veteran support groups. Last year, 74 Warriors were helped by Hits for Heroes on their journey to healing through Jeep Sullivan's Wounded Warrior Outdoor Adventures.

The game will give fans in the Wiregrass area the rare opportunity to see junior college baseball at night. The two teams last squared off in the Alabama Community College Conference Division Two Championship last season which Wallace won, 15-2.
