At long last, the Lady Govs softball team has been able to practice outside.
"We feel lucky and we feel blessed," said head coach David Dews. "This week we're just trying to get some intersquad and live game stuff. We're trying to get them ready for the season opener in a couple of weeks."
Dews said one thing he is proud of is the team's attitude.
"Our attitude has been really good. We have a very good work ethic The girls have ben working really hard and I am proud of them."
"We can feel the start of the season is near. Our kids just want to play. We just want to see where we're at, and see what we need to do to get better every day."
The Lady Govs open the 2024 season on February 3 at South Georgia State. In fact, the Lady Govs' first four sets of games are on the road. The team won't play at home until Tuesday, February 20 when they play host to ABAC.
