DOTHAN, Ala. - Wallace Softball under new head coach
Sam White started their fall season with ten innings against the Panhandle Heat.
Â
The two teams didn't keep score in the pair of five inning games but the Lady Govs had several good performances at the plate and in the circle.
Â
Sophomores Reagan Chenault and
Kennedy Hussey along with freshman MacKenzie Jones had strong moments in the circle and also had the opportunities to battle through adversity. Chenault had three solid innings before facing some trouble in her fourth and final inning. Before Jones struggled with control, she had a pair of solid innings. Hussey provided a different speed and look to close out the day.
Â
Several players had hits in the game for the Lady Govs including a home run by freshman and Headland native,
Ava Allsup. Other extra-base hits came from
Izzy Holden (double),
Kennedy Hussey (double), and a triple down the right field line by
Jaslyn Andrews. Others that had hits on the day:
Macey Kidder;
MJ Toth;
Lana Carpenter;
Ane Blevins; and
Kelsey Tabor.
Â
Wallace will be back in action on Sunday, October 5, when they host the Alabama Fury. First pitch for the ten-inning affair will be at 2 PM.
