It's the final week to sign up for the David Dews Softball Camp. The "Dews Crew" Softball Camp will be held next Tuesday through Thursday, July 16, 17, and 18.
There will be two sessions. The first session will be held in the mornings form 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. This one will be for ages 7-12. The afternoon session is from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. and is for ages 13-18. Both camps will be held on the softball field on the campus of Wallace Community College. The cost of either camp is $100.
"We're going to have a lot of fun and at the same time the kids are going to learn a lot," Dews said. "But there is something else I want to emphasize and that is safety. I want to make sure all of our camp participants are properly hydrated. Our area remains under a heat alert so we want to make sure everyone is safe."
Dews said all campers will be allowed as many water breaks as necessary, but he encourages everyone to go one step further.
"Please don't wait until the day of the camp to start hydrating. You need to start preparing a day or two before the event. That way you will already be properly hydrated when you arrive and we will make sure you remain that way at the camp."
All camp participants can sign up by following the QR code linked here. If you have any questions, you can call 334-556-2216 or email Coach Dews at ddews@wallace.edu .
