In his first season at the helm, Ihle led the Govs to a remarkable 42-19 record, including victories in the Perfect Game Panama City Beach Classic and the ACCC Southern Division Regular Season Championship. The team advanced to the ACCC State Championship game, just one win shy of earning a World Series berth. A standout from the 2023 season, Kade Snell, earned numerous accolades including the NJCAA National Player of the Year, becoming the first player in Alabama history to claim the honor. Snell was also named the ACCC Pitcher and Player of the Year, with Ihle earning the ACCC South Division Coach of the Year award. Snell would move on to continue playing at the University of Alabama where he would eventually captain the team in 2025 and get drafted by the Chicago Cubs in the 5th round of the 2025 MLB Draft.
The Govs’ success under Ihle continued in 2024, producing one of the best seasons in school history with a 44-8 overall record and a 30-2 mark in conference play. Their second straight ACCC Regular Season Championship and a runner-up finish in the Perfect Game Panama City Beach Classic highlighted the season. On April 15, 2024, Wallace was ranked #1 in the nation for the first time in program history by the NJCAA, a position they maintained for the final three weeks of the regular season. The Govs fell short of a World Series bid by a single vote, but several players were named to the ACCC All-Conference First and Second Teams, with Cason Eubanks earning the ACCC DII Conference Player of the Year award and Reigh Jordan claiming the ACCC DII Conference Pitcher of the Year award. Ihle again earned the ACCC DII Conference Coach of the Year honor.
In 2025 under Ihle's leadership, Wallace Community College claimed its second ACCC State Championship since 1990, capping off another successful season with a 30-25 overall record and a 26-10 mark in conference play. While the Govs fell short in their pursuit of a DII World Series berth, the program continues to thrive under Ihle’s guidance. Mason Koczwara was named the ACCC DII Pitcher of the Year, and several players earned All-Conference recognition, including four Govs named to the ACCC All-Tournament Team. Koczwara later earned NJCAA DII All-American honors as a pitcher.
Since taking over as head coach, Ihle has helped 37 players continue their careers at four-year institutions, with 21 advancing to the Division I level. Every season Ihle has been at Wallace has featured at least one All-American, and he has guided players to multiple individual accolades, including 3 ACCC Players of the Year and 3 Pitchers of the Year honors.
Before his time as head coach at Wallace, Ihle served as the Assistant Coach and Recruiting Coordinator under Mackey Sasser, where he led an explosive offense that contributed to the team’s success and runner-up finish in the ACCC State Tournament.
