Jack Schaffer is in his fourth year as an assistant coach for the Wallace Community College Govs, where he serves as the recruiting coordinator as well as the outfield and catching coach, assisting with hitters, and working as the third base coach. With a wealth of experience at both the collegiate and summer baseball levels, Schaffer brings a deep knowledge of the game to the Govs’ coaching staff.
Before joining Wallace, Schaffer spent time as a graduate assistant at Georgia State University, where he honed his coaching skills while working with collegiate athletes. His summers in the world of summer ball have been equally impactful, as he’s coached in two prominent leagues: the Northwoods League and the Coastal Plain League. In 2022, Schaffer served as an Assistant Coach with the Willmar Stingers. The following year, he made a major impact with the Bismarck Larks, earning Northwoods League Coach of the Year honors for his efforts.
In 2024, Schaffer took on the role of Field Manager for the Greenville Yard Gnomes in the Coastal Plain League, leading the team in its inaugural season. He’s held that position for the past three summers, further solidifying his reputation as a rising star in the coaching ranks.
At Wallace, Schaffer is instrumental in recruiting and developing the Govs’ outfielders and catchers, helping them refine their skills while also contributing to the team’s offensive strategy. His experience and leadership on the field make him an invaluable asset to the program.
