Several Wallace sophomores were in the spotlight this past Saturday before the Lady Govs softball games against LBW. And it wasn't for their play on the field.
It was Sophomore Day and the two-year players and managers were recognized on the field before the games. The players got to walk on the field with their parents and they were presented with flowers and other gifts.
Recognized for their achievements at Wallace the past two years were:
- Caroline Armstrong, who was accompanied by her parents Rachel and Charles Armstrong. Caroline plans to stay at Wallace and continue her education in Radiology.
- Hannah Buchan was accompanied by her father Chris Buchan, and sister Amelia Buchan. After Wallace, Hannah plans to transfer to Columbus State University to pursue Nursing school.
- Elly Castle was accompanied by her parents Abby and Scott Castle. After Wallace, Elly hopes to continue playing softball at a four-year university while completing her degree in Psychology.
- Katlyn Conner was accompanied by her parents Bridgette and James Conner. After Wallace, Katlyn plans to continue playing at a four-year university with hopes of getting into a dental program.
- Erin Curry was accompanied by her parents Ramona and Marty Curry, and her sister, Kara Curry. After Wallace, Erin plans to transfer to Troy University to complete her BSN.
- Shaylei Mock was accompanied by her parents Tracy and Gary Mock. After Wallace, Shaylei plans to pursue a degree in teaching or as an ultrasound technician.
- Aimee Senn was accompanied by her parents Melanie and Johnny Senn, and her sister Hailee Layton. After Wallace, Aimee plans to pursue a Doctorate in Physical Therapy at West Alabama University.
- Natalie Toub was accompanied by her parents Dana and Adam Toub. After Wallace, Natalie plans to transfer to Troy University to pursue a degree in Psychology, focusing on child development.
- Tashayla McGlown was accompanied by her father Charlie McGlown and teammate Sadie Hanks. After Wallace, Tashayla plans to join the PTA program and also become an Athletic Trainer.
